     Jeff Haas and the Trio started playing Thursday nights in the summer out at Chateau Chantal since it was much smaller in architecture. Some of their listeners have been gazing out of the turret window or sitting on the west patio enjoying masters play their instruments for over fifteen years. They have witnessed historical performances by the likes of Marcus Belgrave, Nancy Stagnitta, Claudia Schmidt and many others.

The relationship between Chateau Chantal and the Jeff Haas Trio has blossomed into a regional tradition. It has grown from a summertime occasion to a year-round event. Jeff and the Trio still play to panoramic sunsets every Thursday evening in from mid June through the month of August but Jeff and the winery listened to the calls of the fans for many years and have expanded to performances every last Sunday of each month outside of the summer season. Now a listener can enjoy Chateau Chantal's scenery and the Jeff Haas Trio's music in between September and May as well.

     In the summer of 2007, Chateau Chantal and Jeff teamed up and recorded their 2nd Jazz at Sunset CD and captured some of the most fascinating live improv performances ever heard. Even though every performance could have been recorded and sold as perfection. However, select sessions over the summer were captured and are now available on the Chateau Chantal webstore. Grab you piece of history today!

     In 2008, Chateau Chantal and the Jeff Haas Trio are teaming up again to bring to their fan base a weekly radio show called Jazz Connections with Jeff Haas. This weekly show, heard on Sundays at 6pm and again on Thursdays at 10pm, will explore with listeners"... jazz and its connection to rock, blues, R&B, classical, and world music." Jazz Connections can be heard on 88.7 FM Interlochen Public Radio (IPR), 88.5 FM Mackinaw City, 100.9 FM East Jordan/ Charlevoix or streamed at www.interlochen.org/ipr.
